Week 14

I have been given a job role as a ‘fight choreographer’ for Box of tricks theater company and I have done extensive research for fight choreography and explored different fight choreography companies in great detail go to (Spring Commission -> RESEARCH) to see all the research i have done for my chosen job role.

We all have been told to choose 3 monologues 2 either being Shakespeare or modern, I have chosen to do 2 Shakespeare monologues. I’m choosing to do 1 monologue from Othello, by Iago Act 1 scene 3 go to (Unit 7 -> Chosen and performed monologue) if you want to check it out.

We also had a look on how to further develop our Shakespearean monologues with techniques like Iambic pentameter, this technique helps you understand how to perform Shakespearean monologues because identifying the Iambic pentameter is you Identifying the rhythm of the monologue, because every Shakespearean monologue has a certain rhythm to it. Translating a Shakespearean monologue to modern English is a excellent technique to help understanding the meaning behind the words or sentences that you might not understand otherwise, which leads on to my final point which is to identify words you don’t know and researching them and their meaning in your own time, this helps you make sense of the wording and sentences.
