SCENARIO – SC 2021

I am Nicolas Tufaile Forstman, and I’ve been selected as the fight choreographer for Box of Tricks theatre company. Now I may have been selected as a fight choreographer but I’m a actor first and foremost, and so I have chosen to do 3 monologues for my show. I’ve chosen 2 Shakespearean/ classical and one modern, and as such I rate this a 16+ for my demographic since some serious language can be used at times but more so because Shakespeare can be tricky to understand for younger audiences and they might not find it enjoyable, hence why I rate it 16+.the monologues I have chosen are, “Our bodies are our gardens” said by Iago from Othello, ” Was ever lady ” said by Richard from King Richard III, and lastly, ” I don’t have a plan” said by the Joker from The Dark Knight (see monologues – under unit 4 – under Autumn commission 2020)

Box of Tricks theatre company is as the name suggests, a theatre company that works on and makes plays. because of this they need a wide range of expertise for a wide variety of jobs, in this case mine is fight choreographer, and there are loads more out there. BoT tc (Bot tc – referring to Box of Tricks theatre company) needs us to create a good working environment where nothing but success is accomplished.

Me as a fight choreographer teaches the actors about staged combat an how to perform good, safe and most importantly flashy fight to spark out in the play. Not only do I teach them how to do a good and successful fight sequence but I teach them how to make it their own, and choreograph their fight themselves, as the actors it is their job to figure that out on their own and get valuated by myself and the director later on. with this all being said it’s clear that my aim i this position is to support and teach young actors about fight choreography so they can choreograph their own fights in the future and make them the best they can be, as well as this i also have my three monologues to think about so whilst i teach the actors I will be working on my three monologues in the side lines.
